Barney Swihart is the Executive Director C.A.R.E. Counseling in Philadelphia. He has served as a Christian counselor and teacher in the greater Philadelphia area. He is married and is the father of three children.
Barney Received a B.A. degree in psychology from Grace College in Northern Indiana and a M.A. and M.Div. Degrees from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In addition he has received specialized training in pastoral counseling from the Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation(CCEF) in Laverock, Pennsylvania and the Institute of Biblical Counseling in Denver, Colorado.
Barney brings over 30 years experience as a counselor and teacher. He is experienced in a wide spectrum of counseling issues. His professional expertise is focused individual and marriage counseling and on such issues as addictions, gender identity issues, and sexual abuse and sexual addiction. Barney has a special burden to encourage men and women struggling with issues of their masculinity and femininity and how that effects their relationships and self-esteem.
